How it works

Low power red light wavelengths are emitted directly through your skin, to a depth of 8-10 mm.

These light waves relax and strengthen your capillaries, improving circulation. There’s no heat, so you won’t feel anything and it’s completely safe and silent.

The light waves stimulate the production of collagen, which plumps your skin.

Elastin is also stimulated, which tightens your skin and improves elasticity.

Red light therapy (and the LEDs used in them) can be made in such a way that they emit very specific light wavelengths, such as 630nm or 670nm. Red light therapy devices aim to affect the mitochondria throughout the body. Mitochondria are the energy-producing units of our cells. Improving mitochondrial function will improve the overall health of your body.


The body responds to light and different wavelengths of light create different effects on the body. Light in the range from 600nm to 900nm has been shown to create the biggest biological response. Most of this range is encompassed by red light.

The energy from this light is absorbed by the body and through a series of metabolic events is converted into cellular energy. One benefit is the release of ATP. More ATP in the cell  = better cellular functioning.
